Counseling for PTSD & Trauma, Substance Abuse

NLP, CBT, IFS, EMDR

I use CBT, IFS, and EMDR. This combination of techniques is very effective for trauma and PTSD. To a lesser degree I use other techniques such as NLP, which shows you the fun and interesting things the brain can do. For example: think of an image: now imagine it getting gradually darker and darker. Now imagine pixilating it and watching the pixels fall to the ground. Good way to get rid of an image? Yes...

Guided Imagery is sometimes used for relaxation and affirmations.

People with trauma believe that they will never get rid of the thoughts that are driving them crazy, that they will have to live with this 'curse' forever.

Although you cannot erase memories nor would you want to, they can be de-powered through processing with EMDR.

For people suffering from trauma, try every healing method available. Sometimes you have to look until you find the one that works for you.

After the traumatic event your life has changed forever. We have to be open to accepting this. We have to get up everyday and keep going. I can help support you in this.

I want to help you get free of negative images, thoughts, dreams. NLP is a very powerful and very user friendly tool that can change your life. You can get your life back.

To me the techniques are so life changing that I think of it as bending your brain or your mind, hence the name. The mind is malleable--it can be changed if you want and only if you want. Anyone who has studied or experienced NLP will know what I mean. I'm talking about neuro linquistic programming, introduced by Richard Bandler and John Grinder over 30 years ago.

I have also studied the Human Givens approach to counseling, developed by Joseph Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell. This approach believes that re-experiencing a traumatic event in counseling is unnecessary and possibly harmful, not to mention painful.  You will not have to talk about all the details of your trauma. You will be asked to relax in pleasant surroundings and allow your subconcious mind--the inner you, do the work and the healing.

You need help if you can't stop thinking about a negative event or the negative event is taking over the space in your head or you are having unpleasant thoughts or dreams on a regular annoying basis. Call for a free consult.
